Virus Collection Swab

The Swab for a viral sample collection from the oropharynx and nasopharynx has an easily breakable stem, the stem is produced with non-toxic medical material that does not affect viral activity and morphology.

It is manufactured with a medical rayon tip without fluorescent material, preventing RT-PCR interference.

According to the “CDC guidelines for the collection and handling of clinical specimens suspected of COVID-19”, only synthetic fiber swabs and rigid plastic stems should be used. COTTON SWAB should NOT be used to test suspected cases of COVID-19. Cotton fiber contains substances that inactivate the virus and can inhibit RT-PCR tests leading to false negatives (reference: U.S. Food and Drug Administration-FDA).
